There were actually two artists involved in this website - Alexis, the primary genius whose work this is, and me,
secondary genius and general clean-up person.  And trust me, the second spent more time on some of the clean up
as the first did drawing the actual cartoons.  A LOT more time.

Most of these cartoons, after being scanned in, had little glitches (the scanner left lines where the paper ended, Alexis
is left-handed and draws with a pen that does not dry immediately, and so smudges) that I could correct easily, as they
were black on white and a little Photoshop goes a long way.  But then there were the
other cases - those cartoons
clipped out of our extensive collection of fanzines (and, Bob Lichtman, take it up with Alexis, not me).  Some of the
cartoons in the main section, and
all the cartoons in this section, were from these - and were a lot more
work-intensive.   Most zines were reproduced my mimeograph, and were printed on something called twiltone, which is
(to me) the most gawdawful stuff ever produced - you cannot use a pencil to correct things, you must use what is
known as a "clone tool" and this means, instead of being able to use one color to correct the thing, you must find a
corner of the drawing free from glitches, and copy it.  Some twiltone has a relative lack of fiber - like this:
....and some has a hell of a lot of it, like this:
It is, however, thankfully random and therefor the clone tool my be used on it and few people will notice.

The difficulty with the clone tool is you cannot take one small area and replicate it, or you will wind up with an
obvious repeat that looks like really bad wallpaper.  Let's take that really fiberous twiltone.  You select  a really
small area, like this:
